The Deaf Person Is Going To Pay !

OOPS, NOT SO FAST !

As stated in The American's With Disabilities Act (ADA), "A public accommodation may not impose a surcharge on a particular individual with a disability or any group of individuals with disabilities..."

Many businesses have had to make costly physical changes to their buildings. A person in a wheelchair, who is able to be served because of these changes, never pays a dime for this accessibility. Ironically, there is a public perception, held by many, that assumes that Deaf people need to pay for their own interpreter. The sign language interpreter brings accessibility to the Deaf person, just as the ramp brings accessibility to the person in the wheelchair.

If you would like a copy of the portion of the law pertaining to Deaf issues, we would be happy to send it to you. Just give us a call.
